H5N1 CONFIRMED AT 3RD PREMISES NEAR PENICUIK, SCOTTISH BORDERS

Highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 has been confirmed at a third premises near Penicuik, Scottish Borders.

A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone have been put in place around the premises. Please check GOV.SCOT for further information.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory biosecurity measures is in force across Great Britain. An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is also in force in England and Wales.

All bird keepers must follow strict biosecurity measures, any regional housing measures/Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area to prevent future outbreaks.
