Highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 has been confirmed at a second premises near Penicuik, Midlothian.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory biosecurity measures is in force across Great Britain. An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is also in force in England and Wales.
All bird keepers must follow strict biosecurity measures, any regional housing measures/Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area to prevent future outbreaks.
